1 4-5 lb whole chicken (pat dry)
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 lg onions cut into wedges, divided
3 apples cut into wedges
1 c. apple juice

Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. Rub half the mixture over the whole chicken and under the skin at the breast. Take the remainder of the dry ingredients and mix with the onion and apple wedges. Take mixture and place in the cavity of the chicken.
Arrange the remaining onion on the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the chicken on top and pour apple juice over and around chicken. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 7 hours, or until the chicken is falling off the bone.
